How Do Costume Sizes Work?

How Do Costume Sizes Work?

Costume sizing can feel confusing because it doesn't always match your regular clothing size. Here's what you need to know before you order.

Costumes Use Standard S/M/L/XL Sizing

Most adult costumes are labeled Small, Medium, Large, or XL. These are general size ranges — not cut to the same tolerances as everyday clothing. A costume "Large" may fit a range of body types, so always check the size chart on the product page first.

Always Measure Before You Order

The most reliable approach is to measure your chest, waist, and hips and compare against the size chart on each product listing. If you're between sizes, size up — costumes are easier to take in than let out, and most styles are meant to be worn loosely.

Plus Size Costumes

We carry a wide selection of plus size costumes. Look for sizes labeled 1X, 2X, or 3X. When in doubt, check the measurements on the product page rather than relying on the size label alone.

Kids Costumes

Kids costumes are typically sized by age range (e.g., Toddler 2T-4T, Child Small 4-6, Child Medium 8-10). Because kids grow fast, we recommend checking the height and weight guidelines on each listing rather than going by age alone.
